Training: Healthcare and Nursing Auxiliaries

Healthcare and nursing auxiliaries support registered nurses in the treatment and care of patients. They are involved in therapeutic measures and ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the ward.

The auxiliary healthcare workers and nurses mainly work in hospitals, specialist practices or health centres. However, they also work in elderly and care homes, in outpatient social services, in short-term care homes, as well as in residential homes for those with disabilities.

The one-year training includes at least 900 hours of practice and 700 hours of theory. The practical training takes place in inpatient and outpatient facilities (see partners). The final exam consists of a practical, written and an oral section.
